Projects
The Social Secretary – Story and Book by Ellen Dean Price; Music by Ryan Carroll
Based on the play THE SOCIAL SECRETARY: A ROMANTIC COMEDY SET IN GILDED AGE NEWPORT, this new musical is currently in development.
When Clara Rutherford is hired to mold nouveau riche bachelor Eli Boyd into a true gentleman, spats ensue and sparks fly. But will the elite Four Hundred ever accept him, or will all of the chaos she’s stirred up in his household - and his heart - be for naught?
You’re cordially invited to Newport, RI, for the Season – a whirl of high society events to determine who’s “in” and who’s “out” – at the height of America’s Gilded Age. A Pygmalion story with a twist, The Social Secretary features eclectic characters from both upstairs and downstairs, a lively “screwball” romance, and lots of laughs.
Songs of Suffrage – Directed and based on a concept by Joseph Domencic, featuring music by Ryan Carroll and his writing partners Elyse Moretti Forbes, Natalie Moretti, and Sarah Noone
In 2021, Seton Hill University’s Theatre and Dance Department presented a new musical and multi-artist collaboration, SONGS OF SUFFRAGE, celebrating the lives of women who have contributed to advancing the suffragist movement. The show used songs and musical scenes to highlight a person, a story, or a moment in suffragist history.
Twenty-two artists from across the county were invited to be a part of this staged workshop featuring Seton Hill University Students.
Shades of Gray – Story by Laura Irene Young; Music by Ryan Carroll & Sarah Noone
A one-act mini-musical performed in 2011 at Youngstown University as a senior showcase.
